Accounts Assistant Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Brighton on a part-time basis.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with previous accountancy practice experience who enjoys a varied role and is looking for flexibility alongside the chance to develop specialist knowledge. Working closely with an experienced Manager, you'll support a growing portfolio of clients, preparing service charge accounts, dormant company accounts and trust tax returns, while playing an important role in the continued growth of the team.

Full training will be provided in specialist areas such as service charge accounting, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their technical expertise within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Preparation

  • Prepare draft service charge accounts by collating financial records from managing agents and self managed developments.
  • Ensure expenditure is accurately allocated to the correct schedules and cost categories.
  • Prepare and submit dormant company accounts using IRIS software.
  • Verify invoices to ensure they relate to the correct clients and are suitable for inclusion within the accounts.
  • Assist with the preparation of trust tax returns and related tax calculations.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
