Job Vacancy: Accounts Assistant at Liebherr Rentals, Biggleswade
A vacancy has arisen within our Liebherr Rentals company based in Biggleswade for a Accounts Assistant.
The role contributes to the success of Liebherr-Rental Ltd by providing effective and timely support to the finance and administrative function of Liebherr-Rental Ltd. Using initiative and collaboration skills, the role, reporting to the Financial Accountant, will ensure that the function achieves its key performance indicators and objectives whilst ensuring outstanding customer service at all times whilst working within the Company’s key result areas; Business Performance, Customer Focus, People and Teamwork, Leadership.
Your Responsibilities
- Process purchase ledger invoices, including matching, coding, and posting accurately within agreed timelines.
- Manage credit control activities, proactively chasing outstanding debts via telephone, email, and written correspondence.
- Allocate customer remittances and investigate or follow up on outstanding balances and discrepancies.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations across multiple GBP and EUR bank accounts, ensuring accurate financial postings.
- Resolve invoice queries efficiently in line with company procedures, escalating issues to management where appropriate.
- Reconcile debtor and creditor control accounts on a regular basis.
- Support the preparation and submission of VAT returns.
- Maintain and reconcile intercompany accounts to ensure balances are accurate.
- Prepare bank payment data and accurately post banking transactions within the ERP system.
- Assist with month-end and year-end finance processes as required.
- Provide support to internal stakeholders and external suppliers, resolving finance-related queries via phone and email.
- Assist with internal and external audit requirements, providing documentation and support as necessary.
- Maintain accurate financial records and organised filing systems.
- Liaise professionally with internal departments to respond to finance queries and provide administrative support.
- Support wider finance and operational teams as required.
- Undertake ad hoc finance and administrative duties as required by the business.
- Any other duty as required by management commensurate with the post.

The successful candidate will require the following:
- Strong data entry and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and other finance systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive and team-focused approach
- Able to manage workload effectively and work independently when required
- Experience with accounting systems would be advantageous
- Previous credit control exposure would be beneficial but not essential
