Location: Near Normanton, West Yorkshire
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm
Contract: Temporary with the possibility of becoming permanent
Pay Rate: Competitive hourly rate

Hays Accountancy & Finance are recruiting for a Temporary Accounts Assistant to join a growing finance team based near Normanton. This role will initially focus on Purchase Ledger duties, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position for the right candidate.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant or Purchase Ledger Clerk who is immediately available and looking to join a supportive and fast-paced finance function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing accounts email inboxes and responding to supplier queries.
  • Processing approved purchase invoices onto the finance system.
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies.
  • Assisting with weekly payment runs.
  • Liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve invoice and payment queries.
  • Providing ad-hoc support to the wider finance team as required.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience within Accounts Payable, Purchase Ledger or a wider Accounts Assistant role.
  • Good Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
