Job Title: Accounts Assistant / Office Manager
Salary: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
Job Summary: We are a specialist construction and maintenance company based in Chichester, delivering high-quality services across the UK. We are seeking an experienced and reliable Accounts Assistant / Office Manager to join our friendly team. The successful candidate will ideally be available to commence employment at the end of July. This is a varied role ideally suited to an experienced bookkeeper who enjoys working within a small business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Credit control
- Processing purchase invoices and inputting data into the accounts system
- Supplier payment runs
- Bank reconciliations
- Reconciliation of sales and purchase ledgers
- Credit card and expense reconciliations
- VAT preparation and quarterly VAT returns for submission to HMRC
- Producing accurate weekly and monthly management reports
- Assisting with the preparation of weekly and monthly payroll information for the accountant (payroll processing experience advantageous but not essential)
- Answering incoming telephone calls and responding to emails
- General office administration and supporting the wider business as required

About You:
- Proven experience using Sage accounting software is essential.
- Fully AAT qualified or qualified by experience.
- Minimum three years' experience in a similar bookkeeping/accounts role.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to assist with a variety of office duties.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
Hours, Salary & Benefits:
- Salary: £27,000–£30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- Salary review following successful completion of the six-month probationary period.
- Six-monthly performance appraisals.
- 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
- A four-day working week may be considered for the right candidate.
- 30-minute unpaid lunch break each working day.
- 20 days' annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
