Trainee Client Support – Business Advisory (Colchester)

We are seeking a motivated, ambitious individual to join us as a Trainee Client Support—ideal for candidates with prior experience in accountancy or finance, eager to build on their expertise.

This role merges hands-on experience with structured training, aiding your progress towards a chartered qualification. It is perfect for those who are detail-oriented, development-focused, and thrive in supportive, collaborative teams.


Key Responsibilities

Our dynamic team offers a fresh, client-focused approach to accountancy. By building on your technical knowledge and strengthening client relations, this role provides opportunities for growth. Key duties include:

  • Supporting and reviewing statutory financial statements, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with accounting standards.
  • Assisting with management accounts, including analysis, commentary, and financial forecasting.
  • Contributing to tax compliance, preparing personal and corporate tax returns and meeting deadlines.
  • Building and nurturing client relationships for long-term satisfaction.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to meet deadlines, share knowledge, and uphold a professional and positive work culture.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Essential Criteria

We seek candidates with:

  • Partway completion of ACCA/ACA qualification or equivalent AAT qualification.
  • Experience in an accountancy or finance environment.
  • Strong analytical and interpretative skills.
  • A personable, outgoing nature with a passion for client relations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, plus experience with Xero and cloud-based accounting software (advant advantageous).

Desirable Traits

  • Proven ability to adapt, take initiative, and leverage technology in accountancy workflows.
  • Kee duplicative sharp attention to detail and problem-solving aptitude.
