The Role

As Business Services Manager, you will lead a team involved in accounting and advisory services, driving excellence in client outcomes, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of accountants and support staff
  • Oversee accounting, tax, VAT compliance, and financial reporting for multiple clients
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high service standards
  • Monitor workflow, control processes, and improve operational efficiency
  • Support business development initiatives and contribute to team training

The Ideal Candidate

This role is ideal for an experienced accountant with a background in practice management, eager to step into a leadership position. The successful candidate will combine technical expertise with strong interpersonal and organisational skills.

Requirements:

  • Qualified through ACCA, ICAS, or an equivalent accounting body
  • Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in general practice
  • Proven ability to manage client portfolios and deliver compliance services
  • Strong accounting, tax, and VAT skills, with hands-on experience using:
    • SAGE Line 50
    • XERO
    • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in coaching and developing junior staff
  • Solid knowledge of corporate and personal tax regulations
