ACCOUNTS CLERK

PERMANENT CONTRACT

Full Time

40 hours per week

Between £28,392 To £30,000 Per Annum Depending On Experience

About Phyllis Court Club

Phyllis Court is a private members club situated in a grand riverside manor, set in 18 acres of land with 17 guest bedrooms on the River Thames in Henley-On-Thames and spectacular views over the river & the countryside beyond.

Phyllis Court has excellent facilities, superb cuisines and wines, relaxing riverside accommodation and friendly staff being the perfect setting to meet friends & colleagues, with the highlight of the year being Henley Regatta.

The Role

This hands-on role will support the Head of Finance, HR and payroll and Accounts team in ensuring the smooth running of financial operations.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working with numbers, takes pride in accuracy, and is looking to develop a career in finance within a friendly and supportive team.

Responsibilities Will Include

  • Process daily Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely reconciliation.
  • Monitor credit card charges, payment discrepancies, refunds, returns and miscellaneous charges.
  • Prepare and reconcile Direct Debit collections.
  • Assist the Assistant Accountant on a day-to-day basis with the overall sales ledger, credit control function.
  • Work to strict deadlines, working well with colleagues and ensuring that each task is completed with a strong attention to detail.
  • Deal with any Members’ queries and resolving them in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain orderly financial filing system files. Manage the archive process and ensure this adheres to the archive policy.

Essential Skills And Experience

  • Previous experience in an accounts, finance or bookkeeping role
  • Strong Excel skills including Vlookup/XLookup, Sumif and Pivot Tables and Pivot Tables
  • Power BI knowledge desirable but not essential.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills
