An ambitious and forward-thinking accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Accounts Director to join its leadership team in Bolton.

Description

As Accounts Director, you will be responsible for leading the Accounts team, driving business development activity, and ensuring the highest standards of technical and client service delivery.

This is an ideal opportunity for an established Director, Senior Manager, or Associate Director looking to take on a more influential leadership position within a growing and entrepreneurial firm.

  • Leading and developing the Accounts team, fostering a positive and high-performance culture.
  • Managing a portfolio of key clients across a range of sectors.
  • Acting as a trusted adviser to business owners and senior stakeholders.
  • Driving business development activities and generating new fee opportunities.
  • Building and maintaining a strong network of professional contacts and referral sources.
  • Identifying opportunities to expand services within existing client relationships.
  • Reviewing statutory accounts, management accounts, and advisory work.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and regulatory standards.
  • Supporting strategic initiatives and contributing to the firm's continued growth.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing managers and senior team members.

Profile

The Successful Candidate Will Ideally Possess

  • ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent).
  • Significant experience within an accountancy practice environment.
  • A proven track record of winning new business and generating revenue growth.
  • Strong leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Excellent networking, relationship-building, and communication skills.
  • Commercial awareness and a strategic mindset.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge.
  • The confidence to influence clients, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.
