Reporting directly to the Directors, this is a broad and hands-on accounting role taking responsibility for the day-to-day finance function. The position would suit an experienced Accounts Manager, Company Accountant, or Senior Bookkeeper looking for a varied role within a growing owner-managed business.

You will oversee the transactional finance processes whilst producing management information and maintaining accurate financial records across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the day-to-day finance function, including sales and purchase ledger activities
  • Preparing invoices, supplier payments, bank reconciliations, and maintaining accurate accounting records
  • Producing monthly management accounts, trial balance information, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns and supporting month-end processes
  • Monitoring cash flow, budgets, and profitability across the business
  • Processing expenses and preparing payroll information for external providers
  • Producing financial reports and analysis for the Directors to support business decision-making
  • Managing intercompany transactions and liaising with external accountants regarding year-end accounts preparation
  • Maintaining financial controls and identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and procedures
  • Providing general finance and administrative support as required

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
