Haslers are a leading firm of Chartered Accountants, Business Advisers, Tax, VAT and Corporate Finance specialists based in Loughton, operating for a variety of clients in various sectors throughout Essex and North East London.

Account Manager

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will take responsibility for a portfolio of clients, providing exceptional service and overseeing all aspects of statutory accounts work. You will also lead a team of professionals in delivering high-quality results, ensuring that all deadlines are met.

Core Responsibilities

  • Planning jobs and liaising with the client to consider both their needs and the key areas relating to the assignment.
  • Consider use of outsourcing versus jobs being done in-house.
  • Preparing the budget and timing and sign off with the client ensuring these are adhered to.
  • Managing the assignment lifecycle as it proceeds, delegating and reviewing work of staff to ensure that standards are met.
  • Business Development.
  • Providing timely feedback to partners on issues identified with clients and producing a high quality complete file with minimal review points.
  • Identifying additional potential business revenue for the Firm and explore these with the client.
  • Manage team performance and development to ensure high quality work submitted at all times, ensuring timely feedback given to team members and feeding back to Partners regularly on overall team development.
  • Ensure milestones, probationary reviews and annual appraisals are carried out on time.
  • Any other duties as maybe required for the execution of the role.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Qualified ACA/ACCA with good technical competence.
  • Proven track record of portfolio management.
  • Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written English.
  • Extensive experience of statutory accounts and management accounts within a Mid-Tier Practice is essential.
  • Experience of managing and developing a team is essential.
  • Knowledge of current UK GAAP accounting standards.
  • IT literate with experience with Xero, CaseWare, Sage and CCH an advantage.
  • Strong VAT knowledge
  • Candidates must have a car & a clean driving licence.
