Salary: £23,133 – £25,000 per annum Hours per week: 35 Location: Hybrid (minimum of 2 days/week at IOSH’s head office, Wigston, Leicester) Eligibility: Must have the right to live and work in the UK Closing date: 8 July 2026
About the Role
We are seeking an Accounts Officer (Payables and Receivables) to join IOSH during this transformational period. You will work in a small finance team to deliver an efficient, customer-focused, and cost-effective Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) function.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain purchase ledger accounts by:
- Setting up supplier accounts
- Matching purchase invoices to orders
- Ensuring correct approvals and processing transactions onto the purchase ledge
- Generating payment runs for creditors

Manage AP/AR records, ensuring timely payments to creditors and collections from debtors, within agreed terms and deadlines.

Process expenses and credit card transactions, including:
- Expense applications
- Adjusted credit limits
- Intercompany entries

Generate BACS payment files and manage Direct Debits.

Provide accurate, timely financial data to support management accounts and stakeholder reporting.

Work effectively within a system-driven approach, balancing competitiong priorities while ensuring precise data analysis.
Requirements
What You’ll Bring
- Strong experience in a customer-focused AP/AR environment with excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, using a methodical approach.
- Fluency in data analysis for accurate reporting.
- Confident communication (in-person, phone, email) with excellent customer service skills.
- IT proficiency including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and databases.
- Familiarity with general accounting principles.
