Job Title

A growing professional services business based in Billericay is looking to recruit an Accounts Payable Assistant to join its finance team.

About the Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous accounts payable or finance administration experience who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Matching purchase orders, invoices, and delivery notes where applicable.
  • Managing supplier statement reconciliations and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Preparing and processing weekly and monthly payment runs.
  • Setting up new supplier accounts and maintaining supplier master data.
  • Responding to supplier queries via telephone and email.
  • Assisting with employee expense processing and reconciliation.
  • Supporting month-end close by ensuring all invoices are recorded and accrued where necessary.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Working closely with colleagues across the business to resolve invoice and payment queries.
  • Providing general administrative support to the wider finance team as required.

About You

  • Previous experience within an Accounts Payable or finance administration role.
  • Good understanding of purchase ledger processes.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel and finance systems (experience with ERP systems would be advantageous).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business.
  • Able to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive and positive approach with a willingness to learn and develop.
