About the Role
We are seeking an ambitious, part-time Finance Assistant (20 hours, ideally 5 days/week) to support our growing finance team in a collaborative and flexible environment. This role reports to the Accounts Payable Manager and focuses on managing the day-to-day accounts payable process and finance supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities (Ownership of Accounts Payable)
- Full ownership of the day-to-day accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Issuing purchase orders (POs) and matching to supplier invoices.
- Processing daily bank reconciliations to maintain real-time financial records.
- Handling and approving staff expense claims, ensuring compliance with company policy.
- Managing supplier relationships, acting as the primary finance contact and resolving queries promptly.
- Verifying supplier bank and business details.
- Flexibility during month-end and year-end processing is non-negotiable.
- Building strong internal and external relationships across the business.

Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting role.
- Full proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
- Experience with Xero and Approvalmax.
- Passion for startup environments and fast-paced growth.
- Flexibility to accommodate month-end/year-end deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Retail/e-commerce sector experience (desirable but not mandatory).
Salary & Benefits
Salary: Circa £30,000 – £35,000 FTE.
