Part-Time Finance Assistant (20 hours, 5 days/week) – Saint + Sofia

About the Role

We are seeking an ambitious, part-time Finance Assistant (20 hours, ideally 5 days/week) to support our growing finance team in a collaborative and flexible environment. This is a perfect opportunity for a motivated, detail-oriented individual to advance their career within a fast-paced retail innovator. The ideal candidate should have some experience in finance or accounting and thrive in a dynamic, startup environment.

This role reports to the Accounts Payable Manager and focuses on managing the day-to-day accounts payable process and finance supplier relationships.


Key Responsibilities (Ownership of Accounts Payable)

  • Full ownership of the day-to-day accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Issuing purchase orders (POs) and matching to supplier invoices.
  • Processing daily bank reconciliations to maintain real-time financial records.
  • Handling and approving staff expense claims, ensuring compliance with company policy.
  • Managing supplier relationships, acting as the primary finance contact and resolving queries promptly.
  • Verifying supplier bank and business details.
  • Flexibility during month-end and year-end processing is non-negotiable.
  • Building strong internal and external relationships across the business.

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounting role.
  • Full proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
  • Experience with Xero and Approvalmax.
  • Passion for startup environments and fast-paced growth.
  • Flexibility to accommodate month-end/year-end deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Retail/e-commerce sector experience (desirable but not mandatory).

Salary & Benefits

Salary: Circa £30,000 – £35,000 FTE.
