We are looking for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join our Global Finance Shared Services team in Bath. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a collaborative, high-performing team supporting Buro Happold’s global operations across the UK, Europe, India, the Middle East, and the US.
As we continue to deliver our Future Finance Strategy and ambitious growth plans, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our Accounts Payable processes run smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
About The Role
As an Accounts Payable Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the efficient and accurate delivery of our global finance operations. Working as part of a collaborative, high-performing team, you’ll be responsible for processing transactions, resolving queries, and ensuring our Accounts Payable activities run smoothly.
You’ll manage your workload effectively, maintain high levels of accuracy, and work confidently within established finance processes and systems. With support and ongoing development, you’ll build strong technical capability and deepen your understanding of best practice in Accounts Payable within a global organisation.
Key Responsibilities
As part of our Global Accounts Payable team, you will:
- Accurately process supplier invoices and employee expenses in a timely manner.
- Support weekly payment runs, ad-hoc payments, and direct debit processing.
- Manage supplier onboarding via our procurement portal.
- Handle corporate credit card transactions and travel provider invoices.
- Respond to supplier and employee queries, delivering excellent customer service.
- Perform supplier and ledger reconciliations.
- Support month-end activities and resolve workflow or technical issues.
- Process complex invoices and credit notes with accuracy and attention to detail.

What We Are Looking For
We’re seeking someone who combines strong technical capability with a proactive, team-focused mindset:
Essential
- Part-qualified AAT or qualified by experience.
- Experience working with an ERP system (Unit4/Agresso preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
- Experience in a transactional finance team or administrative role.
