Accounts Payable Lead
Location: We welcome applications from those looking for hybrid working, based 2 days per week in our Handforth (Cheshire) Office
About the Role As our Accounts Payable Team Leader, you’ll lead a team of five colleagues, including two remote team members, driving a consistent and high-quality service across our finance operations. With at least two years’ experience managing people and five or more years in Accounts Payable, you’ll bring both strong leadership and technical expertise. You’ll play a key role in connecting teams across the business and with our suppliers, ensuring a smooth and efficient end-to-end experience for our Support Office and Practice Owners (PO’s), while identifying opportunities to evolve and strengthen how we work. Key Responsibilities
Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver an effective AP service Partner with Practices, Operations and Commercial teams to ensure a joined-up approach Drive continuous improvement across AP processes, systems and ways of working Simplify processes to improve efficiency and enhance the experience for PO’s Coach and train colleagues, suppliers and partners on purchasing best practice Lead, support and mentor the AP team to maintain performance and engagement Develop practical solutions to resolve process challenges and improve operations Create and monitor KPIs and reports to track performance and drive improvements Maintain accurate supplier master data and ensure reporting requirements are met Ensure strong controls, compliance and ongoing system integrity

About You You’ll bring strong experience within Accounts Payable, including day-to-day people management, and be confident supporting and motivating a team while balancing competing priorities. You’ll have a solid understanding of finance ERP systems, ideally SAP S/4 HANA, and be comfortable using these to support efficient, accurate processes. With a natural ability to build relationships, you’ll work effectively with stakeholders across the business who interact with the purchasing process, ensuring a collaborative and seamless approach. You’ll also be comfortable providing holiday cover for our locum team when needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork. Experience of managing remote team members would be beneficial, and you’ll be confident leading and engaging colleagues regardless of location. Organised and solutions-focused, you’ll be able to manage multiple demands while maintaining a high standard of delivery. Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate.
