Accounts Payable Manager

Our client in the rail transportation industry are looking for a new Accounts Payable Manager to join their growing team based in Central London.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee daily supplier finance operations and ensure workload is effectively managed across the team.
  • Support, mentor and develop junior finance staff, creating a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Review existing procedures and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy and controls.
  • Act as the main point of contact for supplier-related matters, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure financial data is maintained accurately and that supporting documentation meets audit requirements.
  • Produce management information and reporting to monitor performance, trends and service levels.
  • Work closely with finance, procurement and operational teams to resolve queries and streamline workflows.
  • Contribute to ongoing projects, system improvements and wider finance initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Accounts Payable Manager with experience in leading teams and owning the end-to-end AP process. Strong team management skills, organisation, and motivation will be necessary to lead a small team of juniors beneath you, whilst ensuring targets are hit internally. Strong systems exposure including excel will also be needed.
