Accounts Payable Specialist – 6 Month Contract (Potential Permanent Transition)
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Specialist to join our media agency for a 6-month contract, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in managing high-volume purchase invoices, supplier payments, and reconciliations within a fast-paced media environment. Essential qualifications include experience with Paprika, strong organisational skills, and the ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Process high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently using Paprika.
- Match purchase orders, invoices, and receipts, ensuring correct cost allocation to jobs, clients, and cost centres.
- Manage the entire AP workflow, including invoice coding, approvals, and payment runs.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare and process weekly and monthly payment runs via BACS, CHAPS, and international payments.
- Liaise with account managers, media planners, buyers, and suppliers to address invoice and payment issues.
- Maintain up-to-date vendor records and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Assist with month-end close activities (accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations).
- Support external audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
- Monitor aged creditors and proactively resolve outstanding liabilities.
- Contribute to process improvements and assist with finance projects.

Skills & Experience
- Accounts Payable experience, preferably in media, advertising, marketing, or communications.
- Strong Paprika knowledge—essential.
- High-volume invoice processing and supplier account management.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Basic accounting principles and AP controls understanding.
- Microsoft Excel proficiency (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, data analysis).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
