Accounts Payable Specialist – Williams F1 Team
About the Role
As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you’ll take end-to-end ownership of the purchase ledger and cash transaction process, ensuring Williams F1 honours its commitments to suppliers while upholding the highest standards of financial control. Your work directly impacts the company’s financial integrity and operational performance.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Process invoices across multiple currencies and global entities
- Perform monthly supplier statement reconciliations
- Respond to supplier queries and internal stakeholder inquiries, including resolving complex disputes
- Ensure three-way matching of invoices to purchase orders (POs) and maintain correct approval workflows
- Verify that non-PO invoices carry the required authorisations
- Generate and maintain invoice reports as required
- Prepare and execute weekly supplier payment runs
- Conduct daily bank reconciliations
- Post supplier payment journals and general ledger entries, including:
- Purchase ledger adjustments
- Foreign exchange (FX) transactions
- Accounting corrections
- Complete the purchase ledger balance sheet reconciliation
- Maintain the company’s short-term cash flow forecasts
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency
- Undertake additional ad-hoc duties as directed by the line manager

Qualifications & Requirements
- Proven purchase ledger experience with a strong understanding of:
- Three-way GRN (Goods Received Note) matching
- Approval workflows for invoice processing
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
- Strong IT skills, particularly:
- Microsoft Outlook (email management, workflows)
- Microsoft Excel (advanced data analysis, reporting)
- Preferred (but not essential) experience:
- Accounts Payable modules in Microsoft Dynamics AX
- Medius payment automation solutions
- Collaborative mind with the ability to:
- Self-manage workloads
- Contribute to high-performing teams
- Personable communicator with confidence in both oral and written interaction
- Adaptable and flexible, capable of thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities
