Accounts Payable Supervisor

Accounts Payable Supervisor – EMEA

East Grinstead (Fender Musical Instruments Corporation)


About the Role

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (FMIC) seeks a Accounts Payable Supervisor based in East Grinstead, responsible for supervising accounts payable operations across all EMEA entities. This role requires expertise in:

  • Team management
  • Payment run governance
  • Navan expense administration
  • Banking operations
  • Ensuring AP integrity and compliance across multiple legal jurisdictions

Key Responsibilities

Supervision & Process Governance

  • Oversee the AP team across EMEA, providing guidance and support daily.
  • Review AP inboxes for all EMEA locales to ensure supplier correspondence is processed timeously.
  • Monitor Esker queues to eliminate pending items.

Payment & Vendor Management

  • Review and approve payment runs in SAP for all EMEA entities before execution.
  • Assist the AP team in addressing queries via inboxes.

Navan Expense & Card Management

  • Hold administrative responsibility for Navan expense software, liaising directly with the vendor on issues or upgrades.
  • Administer Navan P-cards and virtual cards, including extensions, for all EMEA entities.
  • Review and approve Navan journals uploaded by the team to SAP.
  • Serve as Navan liaison across EMEA where needed.
  • Ensure Navan claims are up to date and provision is prepared/reconciled monthly.

Banking & Reconciliation

  • Manage electronic banking statement loading, mapping, and uploads from EMEA banks to SAP.
  • Archive and maintain PDF bank statements for auditing purposes.
  • Organise vendor mandates/guarantees.
  • Reconcile GR&IR (Goods Receipt/Invoice Receipt) accounts vs. open purchase orders every month-end.
  • Submit and approve Blackline tasks, journals, and reconciliations based on month-end deadlines.

Strategic & Collaborative Initiatives

  • Act as primary liaison with the US AP team, championing workflow optimisation at scale.
  • Lead the Bank of America electronic banking automation project.
  • Partner with the IT team to refine ERP processes in SAP for efficiency.

Requirements

Essential

  • 4–6 years of accounts payable experience, including 2+ years in management/team lead positions.
  • Proven understanding of end-to-end AP functions, including:
    • Payment run review/approval
    • ERP controls (preferably SAP)
    • GL coding and reconciliation
  • Strong team leadership, organisational, and multilingual stakeholder management skills.
  • Intermediate Excel proficiency required.

Desirable

  • Experience with invoice platforms such as Esker.
  • Expense systems familiarity, including Navan and virtual card rhythms.
  • Knowledge of Blackline reconciliation tools or Bank of America banking solutions.
  • Prior EMEA supplier/banking operations exposure.
  • Project leadership experience (e.g. finance system automation or implementation).
  • Additional European language skills.
