Accounts Payable Team Lead
Equans is looking for a Accounts Payable Team Lead to join the Transactional Services team based in Quorum Business Park on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities
The Accounts Payable Team Leader supports the delivery of an accurate, timely and compliant Accounts Payable service within the Procure to Pay (P2P) process. The role is responsible for day-to-day supervision of AP processing activities, ensuring invoices, queries, and payments are managed in line with agreed SLAs, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise daily AP operations to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant processing of invoices and payments.
- Allocate and monitor workflow across the team, ensuring SLAs, KPIs, and quality standards are met.
- Support GRN management, dispute resolution, and supplier statement reconciliation in line with operational requirements.
- Conduct first-line review of invoice exceptions, quality errors, and processing issues, ensuring prompt resolution.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit requirements, and Fair Payment Code expectations.
- Escalate risks, delays, or compliance concerns to the AP Manager as appropriate.
- Support accurate month-end activities including ledger checks, reconciliations, and reporting inputs.
- Conduct regular 1:1s with team members, ensuring performance, wellbeing, and development needs are understood and supported.
- Lead regular team meetings to communicate priorities, share updates, and reinforce standards.
- Lead, coach, and support AP Assistants to deliver a high-performing, customer-focused service.
- Conduct quality checks and provide feedback to drive accuracy and consistency.
- Support training, onboarding, and cross-training to build resilience and capability across the team.
- Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement aligned to Equans values.
- Assist with performance reviews and contribute to development plans.
- Undertake additional duties as required to support departmental objectives and business needs.

Requirements
- Experience in Accounts Payable or transactional finance within a Shared Service or large organization.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise or mentor team members.
- Strong understanding of AP controls, compliance, and operational processes.
- Experience resolving complex queries and supporting stakeholders.
- Experience with SAP, Coupa, Xelix, or similar platforms.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- This role includes a Basic DBS check, therefore ability to pass is essential.
