Purchase Ledger Team Leader | Wetherby | Hybrid Working

Are you an experienced Purchase Ledger professional who enjoys leading a team but still likes to be hands-on?
We're recruiting for a Purchase Ledger Team Leader to join a growing business based in Wetherby. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll lead a team of three Purchase Ledger Clerks, ensuring the smooth running of the purchase ledger function while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day processing.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business that's investing in its finance function, with a combination of manual processes and automated invoice systems, giving you the chance to help drive efficiencies and continuous improvement.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading, motivating and supporting a team of three Purchase Ledger Clerks.
- Managing the day-to-day purchase ledger function, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and on time.
- Remaining hands-on with invoice processing, matching, batching and coding.
- Preparing supplier payment runs and reconciling supplier statements.
- Resolving supplier queries and building strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Supporting month-end activities and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and maximise the use of automation.
- Working closely with the Financial Controller to ensure an efficient and well-managed finance function.

What we're looking for:
- Previous Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable experience.
- Experience supervising or mentoring a small team.
- A hands-on approach with a willingness to support the team during busy periods.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Confident communicator with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
- Experience using finance systems and good Microsoft Excel skills.
