Accounts Payable Team Leader – Swindon, UK
Location: Swindon, UK
Shift Pattern: Late shift: 14:00–22:00, Monday–Thursday 09:00–17:00 on Fridays
Pattern: 3 days onsite, 2 days hybrid
About the Role
Catalent Pharma Solutions is seeking a proactive and experienced Accounts Payable Team Leader to oversee a busy AP team at our expanding site in Swindon. Reporting into the AP Team Manager, this role involves supervising seven Accounts Payable Analysts, driving operational efficiency, and ensuring compliant and timely vendor payments across global Shared Services.
The Accounts Payable function is critical—ensuring accurate processing, review, and payment of all transactions between Catalent and suppliers while maintaining high standards of accuracy and accountability. This dynamic and growth-focused role is perfect for someone who thrives in a performance-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Operations
- Supervise the day-to-day activities of the Financial Shared Services Centre Accounts Payable team
- Oversee assigned site processing to achieve key AP performance metrics (KPIs)
- Act as the primary point of escalation for complex invoice queries
Global Collaboration
- Foster strong relationships with global sites and lead weekly/bi-weekly AP resolution meetings
- Collaborate with the Global Shared Services team to ensure timely and compliant vendor payments

Process & Compliance
- Coach and mentor Accounts Payable Analysts, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures
- Implement payment controls and drive process improvements while maintaining regulatory compliance
Representation & Accountability
- Support the AP Team Manager during periods of leave or absence
- Handle ad hoc tasks as required to maintain operational excellence
Candidate Requirements
- Derequired:
- Proven experience in Accounts Payable processing and vendor payments
- Proven supervisory experience (preferably in AP), including team coaching or mentoring
- Strong ability to drive solution-oriented process improvements
- ERP system experience (e.g., JD Edwards, Oracle, Sage, SAP, or Great Plains—advantageous)
- Essential:
- Highly diplomatic communication, balancing multitasking skills with accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) and AP software
