Accounts Semi-Senior
Location: Central Harrogate
Contract: Permanent
Salary: Circa £25,000-28,000 DOE
Working Pattern: Full-time
A well-established and growing independent accountancy practice based in central Harrogate is seeking an Accounts Semi-Senior to join its friendly and supportive team.
This opportunity would suit someone with around 12 years experience within an accountancy practice environment who is looking to continue developing their career in a varied and hands-on role. The firm is keen to recruit someone with existing practice experience and can offer ongoing study support towards either AAT or ACA qualifications.
The Role
The successful candidate will gain exposure across a broad range of accounting and compliance work, supporting a varied portfolio of clients while continuing to build their technical skills.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing accounts for a range of owner-managed businesses and clients
- Assisting with bookkeeping duties and VAT returns
- Supporting audit assignments where required
- Assisting with personal and business tax work
- Working closely with senior team members and managers to deliver client work accurately and efficiently
- Liaising with clients to resolve queries and obtain information
- Supporting the wider team with general practice and compliance work
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment (ideally 12 years)
- Studying towards or interested in studying AAT or ACA qualifications
- Good understanding of accounts preparation and bookkeeping processes
- Experience with CCH Accounts Production software would be advantageous, although not essential
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Good attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
