Senior Accountant / Assistant Manager

Our client is an established and growing independent accountancy practice seeking an experienced Senior Accountant / Assistant Manager to join their Corporate Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys managing client relationships, delivering high-quality compliance and advisory work, and supporting the development of junior colleagues within a collaborative and forward-thinking practice. The role centres around managing a portfolio of corporate clients, providing accounting, tax and advisory services, and working closely with audit teams.
The Role
As part of the Corporate Services team, you'll be responsible for:
- Managing a portfolio of business clients across a range of industries
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and corporate tax returns
- Delivering high-quality accounting and advisory services
- Managing complex accounting matters, including consolidations
- Monitoring budgets and ensuring assignments are delivered efficiently
- Building long-term client relationships and acting as a trusted adviser
- Identifying opportunities to provide additional services
- Supporting junior team members through coaching, mentoring and reviewing work
- Contributing to business development and the continued growth of the practice
- Keeping up to date with accounting and tax legislation

The successful candidate will play a key role in both client delivery and the development of the wider team.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent)
- Strong UK practice experience in accounts preparation and client management
- Experience managing a portfolio of clients
- Good technical knowledge of UK accounting and corporate tax
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- A proactive approach with a desire to mentor and support junior staff
