We’re partnering with a growing independent accountancy practice based in Bradford that has recently undergone exciting changes, including new leadership and a move to modern offices. They’re now looking for an Accounts Senior / Accounts Assistant to:
- Support the team
- Take ownership of client work
- Help develop junior staff
Key Responsibilities

Client & Team Support:
- Manage your own portfolio while working closely with both clients and colleagues

Client Management:
- Handling a diverse range of SME clients across various sectors

Year-End Accounts:
- Preparing financial accounts for limited companies

Tax Work:
- Processing personal tax returns (for directors)
- Handling corporation tax returns

Bookkeeping:
- Assisting clients with day-to-day financial management

Training & Mentorship:
- Supporting and developing the skills of junior team members

Client Interaction:
- Building and maintaining long-term, reliable client relationships
This is a hands-on, client-facing role offering real responsibility and variety.
What We’re Looking For
- Practice experience: Around 5 years in a public practice setting
- Qualifications or accreditation: AAT qualification (QBE considered if AAT not available)
- Technical experience:
- Confident in preparing year-end accounts and tax returns
- Client management skills:
- Capable of managing expectations and maintaining long-term client bonds
- Soft skills:
- Strong communication abilities
- A team-focused mindset
- Software experience:
- Proficient in Xero, Sage, or comparable accounting software (Dext a plus)
- CIS experience is advantageous but not essential

Location: Bradford (office-based) Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (dependent on experience) Hours: 35-hour week with weekly early Friday finishes Start date: ASAP
