I am recruiting on behalf of an established and growing accountancy practice with a strong regional presence. The firm provides trusted business advisory and accountancy services to SMEs, combining local client relationships with the wider support and resources of a larger professional services group.

The Role
As an Accounts Senior, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality accounting and advisory services to a diverse client portfolio. This position requires a professional and approachable individual who can understand client needs and consistently deliver exceptional service.
The successful candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple client accounts effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a dynamic portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all financial reporting and submissions.
- Prepare and submit:
- Year-end accounts
- Corporation Tax computations
- VAT returns
- Management accounts
- Personal tax returns
- Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Manage client expectations and arrange closing meetings to finalise accounts.
- Mentor and support junior team members through training, coaching, and constructive feedback.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of streamlined workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain the highest standards of quality across client files and audit work.

Key Requirements
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, or AAT).
- Significant experience working within an accountancy practice.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as:
- Xero
- QuickBooks
- Sage
Additional Requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong client service skills with the ability to understand and respond to client needs professionally.
- Dependable and self-motivated, capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrates a high level of confidentiality and adherence to professional ethical standards.
