Accounts Senior

The Role

This Accounts Senior position is suited to someone who enjoys a broad range of client work and wants to take ownership of accounts preparation, compliance assignments, and client relationships. You will play an important role in delivering high-quality work across a diverse portfolio while working closely with senior team members and supporting the wider team in Essex. What you'll be doing

• Preparing statutory accounts for a variety of entities including limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, LLPs, charities, and group structures
• Completing and reviewing VAT returns, bookkeeping assignments, and management accounts
• Ensuring assignments are delivered accurately, efficiently, and within agreed deadlines
• Reviewing work, resolving queries, and producing high-quality final files
• Supporting outsourced accounting processes, including reviewing completed work and handling queries
• Supervising junior team members, providing guidance, feedback, and support to maintain high standards
• Keeping managers and senior stakeholders updated on client matters, risks, and opportunities
• Working closely with internal departments to resolve technical queries
• Maintaining accurate records, including time recording and workflow updates
• Keeping up to date with professional development requirements and technical changes
• Identifying opportunities to enhance client services and strengthen relationships
