Accounts & Tax Manager

Our Bristol office has grown rapidly in recent years and we're looking for an exceptional Accounts & Tax Manager to play a key role in our next phase of growth. The Role
As Accounts & Tax Manager, you'll take ownership of a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses across multiple sectors, whilst leading and developing a growing team of accountants.
You'll work closely with the Directors, helping to drive quality, efficiency and exceptional client service across the office.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of limited company, partnership and sole trader clients.
- Reviewing statutory accounts, corporation tax returns and personal tax returns.
- Acting as the main point of contact for clients, providing proactive advice throughout the year.
- Managing workflow, deadlines and team capacity.
- Supporting, mentoring and developing junior team members.
- Reviewing work and ensuring high technical standards are maintained.
- Building long-term relationships with clients and identifying opportunities to add value.
- Working closely with the Directors on practice development and continuous improvement.
- Supporting the continued growth and success of the Bristol office.

About You
We're looking for someone who is technically strong, commercially aware and enjoys leading people.
Essential Requirements
- ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent Chartered qualification).
- Minimum 7 years' recent experience working within UK accountancy practice.
- Previous management experience leading or supervising an accounts team.
- Strong knowledge of UK accounts preparation and taxation.
- Strong knowledge of FRS 102 + 105
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive approach with a genuine desire to help clients succeed.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Desirable
- Experience using TaxCalc
- Experience using Xero and cloud accounting technologies.

Working Pattern
This is a full-time position based in our Bristol office.
To ensure you get to know our team, clients and ways of working, the role will initially be office-based. Once you're fully established, we'll offer hybrid working as part of a flexible long-term arrangement.
