About You

  • Qualified or Part Qualified Accounts Technician status (AAT or IATI)
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience within a busy finance department
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while consistently meeting deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work independently while also contributing positively within a team environment
  • A professional and collaborative approach to work
  • Experience adapting to various accounting systems and software packages

About Your New Role

Always

  • Assist with the preparation of annual statutory accounts for a portfolio of small and medium-sized companies
  • Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping activities
  • Complete cash book postings and daily finance transactions
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations
  • Manage sales ledger activities and debtor statement reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal procedures
  • Support the wider finance team with day-to-day accounting responsibilities

Often

  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
  • Assist with year-end audit preparation and respond to auditor queries
  • Submit statutory accounts and documentation to Companies House
  • Liaise with external advisors, agents, and professional contacts
  • Support financial reporting and compliance requirements across the wider group

Occasionally

  • Assist with finance projects and process improvement initiatives
  • Provide additional support to the finance team during peak periods
  • Participate in ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required by management

Never

  • Be restricted to a purely transactional role, as the position offers exposure to statutory accounts, compliance, and financial reporting activities
  • Be expected to reconcile bank accounts using a crystal ball.
