Purpose of the Role
Affinia is accepting applications for its AAT and ICAEW/ACCA Trainee Programmes, with immediate availability to start Monday 24 August 2026. This advertisement is focused on trainees based in our Ipswich office.
Note: Please only apply if you can commit to full-time availability in Ipswich.
Study Support & Development

The Role
As a Trainee, you will develop a strong foundation in accounting and professional services, combining technical training with the development of communication, collaboration, and business skills.

Working Model
Our team operates on a hybrid model, where you’ll balance:
- Time spent in your local office
- Visits to client sites as required
- Collegiate trips to other Affinia offices
- College attendance for training and exams
Note: Office-based attendance is encouraged to facilitate learning and peer collaboration. Homeworking requests must be discussed with your line manager.
Professional Qualifications
AAT Trainee Programme
Objective: Prepare for the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) certification, equipping you with core accounting and financial expertise.
Key Skills Covered:
- Bookkeeping
- Budget management
- Financial performance evaluation
- Personal and corporate taxation
Our structured apprenticeship offers a clear progression path within the firm.
ICAEW (ACA) Trainee Programme
Objective: Become a Chartered Accountant via the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) route.
Study Pathway:
- ICAEW CFAB (Certificate in Finance, Accounting, and Business) – covers the first six ACA modules.
- Progression to full ACA qualification, opening global career opportunities.

Skills & Qualifications
AAT Trainee Programme (Non-Graduates)
Ideal candidates must meet at least one of the following:
- A Levels: Minimum 2 at Grade C or above, including a math-related subject (or equivalent vocational qualifications).
- GCSE Maths: Alternatively, a minimum Grade 6 (B) if Maths was not studied at A Level.

ICAEW (ACA) / ACCA Trainee Programme (Graduates)
We look for graduates with:
- A minimum 2:1 degree in any discipline.
