Trainee Programme Overview
We are now accepting applications for our AAT and ICAEW/ACCA trainee programmes, with a commencement date of Monday, 24 August 2026 (Brighton office only).
As a trainee, you’ll:

Study Support & Development
Comprehensive Package Included
✔ Full funding for tuition and professional institute fees. ✔ Two pathways available:
- Apprenticeship (for candidates aged 22 or younger)

Professional Qualifications
Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT)
Build expertise in accounting and finance, covering:
- Bookkeeping
- Budgeting and financial performance management
- Personal and corporate tax regulations
Our structured apprenticeship pathway ensures progressive skill-building and long-term growth within Affinia.
Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW)
The ICAEW apprenticeship pathway leads to Chartered Accountant status, offering global recognition and diverse career opportunities. You’ll begin by studying the ICAEW CFAB (Certificate in Finance, Accounting & Business), which aligns with the first six ACA modules.
Working Model
Affinia operates a hybrid work model. As a trainee, your time will be divided between:
- Working in your Brighton office (primary focus to support development and peer collaboration)
- Visiting client sites (as needed)
- Attending other offices (when required for training or teamwork)
- College attendance (for study and exams)
Note: While some remote work flexibility is discussed with managers, primarily being office-based is essential to facilitate mentorship and knowledge exchange.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with experienced mentors and colleagues to build client engagement skills.
- Participate in live projects, gaining visibility into your specialism (AAT or ICAEW).
- Improve analytical thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication—crucial to professional success.
- Understand regulatory compliance, best practices, and client relationship dynamics.
Skills/Qualifications
AAT Trainee Programme
We welcome ambitious school leavers (non-graduates) who meet the following criteria:
- 2 A Levels at Grade C or above, including a Maths-related subject.
- OR an equivalent qualification (vocational courses, etc.)—reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
- Without A-Level Maths? Minimum Grade 6 (B) in GCSE Maths is required.

ICAEW (ACA) / ACCA Trainee Programme
Ideal for graduates (any discipline):
- Hold a minimum 2:1 degree.

Additionally, you’ll maintain a professionalism and -friendly approach across emails, phone calls, and face-to-face interactions.
