About the Role
Affinia is currently accepting applications for AAT and ICAEW/ACCA trainee programmes, with a start date of Monday, 24 August 2026. This advertisement is exclusive to Halstead office-based roles only—please apply only if you can commit to full-time work in Halstead.
We offer comprehensive study support, including:

The Role & Training
As a Trainee, you will develop foundational skills in either Accountancy or Audit, integrating technical training with professional and interpersonal development:
Key Responsibilities
- Gain hands-on client experience under structured guidance
- Build expertise in:
- Communication & relationship-building – critical for polished client interactions
- Professional conduct & etiquette – ensuring seamless client engagement
- First-impression confidence – honed from day one

Hybrid Work Model
Your time will be structured as follows:
- Primary office-based work to support collaboration and peer learning (homeworking requests require线 manager approval)
- Client site visits when necessary
- Office-based attendance in other locations as needed
- College attendance for exams and study
Professional Qualifications
Option 1: Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) – For School Leavers
«Designed for non-graduates», the AAT apprenticeship equips you with core expertise in:
- Bookkeeping & budget management
- Tax compliance (personal & corporate)
- Financial performance evaluation The programme offers a clear apprenticeship route to future progression at Affinia.
Option 2: Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAEW/ACCA) – For Graduates
Aspiring Chartered Accountants progress through:
- ICAEW CFAB – Foundational modules (first six parts of the ACA qualification)
- Global recognition and progression towards full Chartered status
Note: Both programmes are *fully funded; trainees earn a salary while studying.

Qualifications & Skills
AAT Trainee Programme (Non-Graduate)
- Minimum requirements:
- 2 A-Levels at Grade C+ (including Maths-related subject), OR
- Equivalent vocational qualification (assessed case-by-case).
- If Maths was not studied at A-Level: Minimum GCSE Maths Grade 6 (B+) required.

ICAEW/ACCA Trainees (Graduate)
- Minimum: First-class or strong 2:1 degree in any discipline.
