About the Role
As an Accounts Trainee, you'll experience the dynamic environments of our Tax and Business Services teams, developing a diverse skill set in a supportive and fast-paced professional setting. Your work will engage a varied clientele including sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, high earners, and property investors.
This multi-project role will involve direct client interaction, including addressing queries, gathering financial data, and assisting with accounting software like Xero. Here, technical expertise grows alongside hands-on experience, with opportunities to explore both teams and expand your capabilities.

- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records using cloud accounting software (e.g., Xero).
- Prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
- Assist with the preparation of personal and corporation tax returns.
- Help with tax compliance tasks, including data collection, reviewing financials, and ensuring timely completion of documents.
- Develop the ability to address client queries with clear, honest responses.
- Support high-quality client service delivery, including accurate and timely tax filings.
- Strengthen client relationships, fostering loyalty and long-term partnerships.
- Support audit work where necessary.
- Collaborate with other departments to compile data for filings and client projects.
- Attend internal and external training sessions to enhance knowledge of tax and accounting.
- Apply theoretical learning in practical scenarios, driving team success.
- Contribute to the firm’s growth through outstanding client service and alignment with company values.
- Actively participate in team collaboration, supporting colleagues and fostering professional culture.
Key Requirements
- Strong academic background, including:
- A minimum Grade 7 in GCSE Mathematics and Grade 6 in GCSE English (or equivalent).
- Eagerness to learn and commit to professional development, including potential qualifications like:
- AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians)
- Further qualifications (e.g., ACA/ICAEW for Chartered Accountants, ATT/CTA for Chartered Tax Advisers).
- Positive, proactive attitude with high motivation and energy.
- A professional, mature demeanour in client and colleague interactions.
