The Opportunity
We're looking for a strategic and influential Accuracy and Loss Manager to lead the stock accuracy and loss prevention agenda across the M&S Food logistics network.
This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact within a stockless distribution environment, where success depends on exceptional operational control, strong governance, and the ability to influence across a complex supply chain. You'll shape and deliver the stock loss strategy, ensuring industry-leading inventory accuracy across inbound and outbound operations while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
What’s in it for you?
- Salary: £59,000 - £72,000 depending on experience
- Hours: 37.5 per week
- Working pattern: Monday - Friday
- Location: Nationwide across any of our sites – hybrid working. We are flexible on your location as there will be travel required across our network, including to our Head Office in Basingstoke.

What You'll Be Doing
Your key accountabilities will include:
- Shape and lead the stock accuracy and loss prevention strategy, influencing cross-functional teams to consistently deliver and exceed outbound accuracy targets of 99.75%.
- Drive the strategic direction for stock holding accuracy across the network, championing continuous improvement, operational excellence, and the adoption of future technology solutions.
- Lead and influence our strategic stocktaking partner, establishing clear performance expectations, fostering accountability, and developing a high-performance culture through coaching and collaborative leadership.
- Build trusted partnerships with site leadership, retail, supply chain, and finance to strengthen governance, resolve complex stock challenges, and deliver sustainable business performance improvements.
- Provide strategic insight through analysis of industry trends and stock loss performance, influencing business decisions and leading initiatives that enhance operational standards and supplier performance.
What We're Looking For
Your skills and experience will include:
- Proven leadership experience in developing high-performing teams and driving accountability, performance and collaboration.
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in supply chain, logistics or stock management, with strong end-to-end operational knowledge.
- Subject matter expert in logistics processes, systems and stock loss management, using data analytics and KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across matrix and leadership teams.
- Strong problem-solving and organisational abilities, capable of managing competing priorities, adapting to change and resolving complex operational challenges.
