Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Accuracy Checking Technician role based in Leedale House, Railway Court, Doncaster, DN4 5FB.
As an Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT), you will play a key role in delivering safe, efficient and patient-centred pharmacy services. Working closely with pharmacists and the wider pharmacy team, you will carry out the final accuracy check of dispensed prescriptions that have been clinically checked by a pharmacist, ensuring medicines are correctly assembled, labelled and dispensed in accordance with medicines legislation, General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) standards and Weldricks Pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

You will support the smooth day-to-day running of the dispensary by helping to manage workflow, maintaining high standards of accuracy and identifying and escalating any dispensing discrepancies or concerns appropriately. The role also includes maintaining accurate records, supporting stock management, contributing to continuous improvement within the dispensary and promoting a safe, clean and organised working environment.
Providing excellent customer service and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality and patient care will be central to everything you do.
Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Recognised Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) qualification.
- Previous experience working within a community pharmacy environment.
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong commitment to patient safety, quality and accuracy.
- Sound understanding of medicines legislation, GPhC standards and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Experience using pharmacy PMR and dispensing systems, with good IT skills and accurate record keeping.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads in a busy dispensary.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary pharmacy team.
- A professional, customer focused approach with a commitment to confidentiality and delivering outstanding patient care.
- A positive attitude towards continuous learning and professional development.

Desirable
- Experience supporting NHS clinical services such as Pharmacy First, hypertension case finding or vaccination services.
- Experience coaching or supporting the development of dispensing colleagues.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement practices within a community pharmacy setting.
