About the role
In this role, you will shape the Trade Marketing strategy and roadmap while managing, executing, analysing, and optimising all areas of performance marketing and personalisation. Although the role has a strong digital focus, it operates holistically across all through-the-line channels.
You’ll work closely with the Chapter Lead and Product Owner, collaborate with and support Campaign Experts, and partner with key squad members to drive commercial performance and achieve business goals.
You’ll enjoy continuous improvement, be confident challenging existing approaches, and actively identify opportunities to deliver step-change performance. With a balance of curiosity and expertise, you’ll apply a best-in-class performance marketing mindset to shape test-and-learn agendas, unlock innovation, and evolve always-on activity.
Success in this role will be measured by your ability to generate high-quality traffic, grow new customer acquisition, and create measurable commercial uplift across the full product portfolio.
You will be responsible for
- Establishing a best-in-class measurement framework, defining KPIs and delivering a single source of truth. Creating meaningful dashboards and weekly cross-channel reports with actionable insight, clearly explaining both the what and the why through modelling, fraud insights, agency input, testing outcomes, and market context.
- Owning the test-and-learn roadmap, co-creating experiments with campaign experts and agencies. Clearly attributing impact, embedding learnings into future activity, and sharing progress and insights across the business.
- Developing the roadmap for Trade development and digital maturity, ensuring Tesco Mobile stays ahead of evolving media and platform trends.
- Defining and owning the audience strategy, using Tesco Mobile first-party data and Tesco Clubcard data, and determining required capabilities, tooling, and architecture. Partnering with vendors and evaluating new solutions through clear business cases.
- Supporting campaign experts by providing performance and audience expertise to maximise ROI, scale activity, and optimise media mix. Overseeing technical setup, including feeds, tagging, and integrations.
- Managing performance agencies and suppliers, supporting procurement processes, and ensuring alignment with performance objectives.
- Collaborating with commercial teams to inform reviews and shape channel-specific propositions that maximise commercial impact.
- Identifying opportunities for analytical innovation by enhancing methodologies, processes, and tooling to deliver more predictive and effective insights.
- Managing budgets alongside performance optimisation, accurately tracking spend down to monthly PO-level detail.
- Championing customer-centric performance, considering the full end-to-end journey and working with squads to improve conversion and overall experience.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
