Senior Project Manager – Industrial Automation
📍 Location: Ilkeston (regular travel to Slough and client sites)
💼 Full-time: 37.5 hours per week

Actemium Automation Nottingham, part of VINCI Energies, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a key client account based in Slough.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded project leader with a strong background in industrial automation, controls, and site-based project delivery. You'll oversee a portfolio of projects, build strong client relationships, and ensure the successful delivery of technical and commercial objectives across the account.
The Role
As Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the safe, profitable, and successful delivery of multiple automation and control projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of automation and control projects across the Slough account.
- Act as the primary project management contact for the client, working closely with the Client Account Manager.
- Manage multidisciplinary teams including engineering, design, commissioning, procurement, and subcontractors.
- Drive project governance, including planning, forecasting, reporting, risk management, change control, and contractual compliance.
- Manage project budgets, cost control, invoicing, and commercial claims to maximize profitability and cash flow.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards while promoting a positive safety culture.
- Oversee FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities through to successful client handover.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and mentor junior team members.

About You
Essential
- Proven experience delivering medium to large industrial automation or process control projects.
- Strong commercial awareness, including budget management, forecasting, change control, and claims management.
- Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
- Good understanding of PLC, SCADA, HMI, instrumentation, and electrical systems.
- Experience in project planning, risk management, and quality processes.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
- Engineering or project management qualification (HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent).
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel regularly to Slough.
Desirable
- APMP, PRINCE2, PMP, or similar project management accreditation.
- Experience within Actemium, VINCI Energies, or similar industrial environments.
- Knowledge of Rockwell automation platforms.
- Experience leading FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities.
- Understanding of industrial safety standards and asset management practices.
