Actemium Design

Actemium Design, a leading name in regulated industry engineering and part of the internationally renowned VINCI Energies group. Whether you are an established Design Engineer or aspire to drive continuous improvement in engineering standards, this role offers you the opportunity to own the mechanical design checking process and help deliver projects that define tomorrow’s industrial landscape.

Checker - Mechanical Design Engineering

As part of our Mechanical Engineering team, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our designs meet both client specifications and statutory requirements. You’ll be involved from concept to detailed design, reviewing technical output and safeguarding design integrity for key projects across nuclear and other regulated sectors.

Main Responsibilities – Mechanical Design Checking & Technical Review

  • Carry out detailed technical checks of mechanical design deliverables, including calculations, drawings, specifications, and data sheets, ensuring compliance with project requirements, standards, and quality procedures.
  • Review and verify mechanical engineering calculations for accuracy, robustness, and compliance with statutory, client, and industry requirements.
  • Work closely with mechanical designers and engineers to provide constructive feedback, challenge assumptions, and drive continuous improvement in design quality.
  • Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams (EC&I, process, project management) to coordinate cross-functional design reviews and integration.
  • Support risk assessment, safety, and constructability reviews, flagging potential issues and driving early resolution.
  • Champion a quality-centric culture by promoting best practice, knowledge sharing, and mentoring less-experienced team members in robust engineering principles.
  • Document and report review outcomes in accordance with project and company quality management systems.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
