Activities Assistant

Activities Assistant - £12.85 per hour

Location: 2 Wickmeads Road, Tuckton, Bournemouth, BH6 4LG Hours: 30 hours per week (including alternate weekends), 8:30 - 16:00 (occasional shifts until 20:00)

About the Role

Join Wickmeads, a residential care home near Bournemouth, as our Activities Assistant! Help plan and deliver a tailored programme of engaging social activities that promote wellbeing, connection, and enjoyment for our residents—including those with dementia.

Key Responsibilities

Support the delivery of diverse social and therapeutic activities, including:

  • Planning and organising a calender of events that enhances residents’ quality of life
  • Tailoring activities to individual interests and abilities (with attention to residents living with dementia)
  • Observing residents’ needs, sharing concerns with the care team
  • Assisting at mealtimes to create a sociable, enjoyable dining experience
  • Encouraging independence and active participation in daily routine
