Activities Co-Ordinator – Berkeley Lodge, Worthing
South Coast Nursing Homes is an established and successful, family-owned and managed care home company based in Worthing, West Sussex. We currently operate 9 homes across East and West Sussex, with 414 beds following the recent opening of The Poets, our new home in Central Worthing. Each registered home delivers the highest standards of resident care and comfort, 24 hours a day, for long and short-term stays.

We are recruiting for an Activities Co-Ordinator to join our team at Berkeley Lodge, Worthing.
Hours
- 36 hours per week (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Includes alternate weekend shifts
Job Responsibilities
As an Activities Co-Ordinator, your key responsibilities will include:
- Planning and implementing a comprehensive, tailored activity programme that meets the social and welfare needs of all residents, while accounting for their individual interests, capabilities, and skills.
- Creating a varied and stimulating weekly schedule that enhances the quality of life for each resident, ensuring activities are clearly displayed for visibility.
- Organising both one-to-one and group-focused activities, designed to reflect each resident’s unique preferences.
- Developing prolonged engagement through structured progression in residents’ participation and confidence in activities.
- Collaborating closely with caretakers, healthcare professionals, and the leadership team to align activities with residents’ healthcare and wellness goals.

Essential Skills & Attributes
- A passionate commitment to delivering superior care and driving personalised outcomes for residents.
- Kind, caring, and positive approach in all interactions.
- Energetic, proactive, and hardworking with the capacity to thrive under organisational demands.
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating activities or similar roles—either within housing, healthcare, or creative environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ensuring clarity in planning, execution, and reporting.
Ideal Candidate Experience
- Previous experience in care-related or creativity-focused roles (e.g., care settings, activity coordination, or similar).
