Activities co-ordinator
Activity co-ordinators are based in care homes or in the community. The role involves organising and providing tailored activities to meet the needs and abilities of individuals, as well as group activities that will bring individuals together. This may include organising trips out in the local community, considering transport arrangements and accessibility, booking external entertainment, and building relationships with the people you are supporting to provide activities that people would like to get involved in.
Expected to earn
The average salary for an activity coordinator can start at £20,000 to £25,000 depending on the role and experience.

Activity co-ordinators need to be organised, motivated, and able to manage their time well. There are a range of skills and values that are needed to work in care settings. These include:
- Excellent communication, observational and listening skills
- Good verbal, digital, written and numeracy skills
- Treating people with dignity and respect
- Ability to follow policy and procedures
Entry requirements
Relevant experience is not always essential as full training is provided; having the right values is key. If you are caring and compassionate with good communication skills, social care could be for you. Many people bring their own personal experience of caring, as well as transferable skills and life experience. There are a range of free training courses to support you into employment and to progress your career in care.
