Activities Coordinator – Contract Role
Location: Edinburgh (Trinity House Care Home, 55-bed Residential, Nursing, Dementia & Respite Care) Salary: £13.08 per hour Contract: 40 hours per week (includes weekends + 1 late night shift until 8pm) Benefits: Paid PVG check, pension, uniform provided, 5.6 weeks annual leave
About the Role
As Activities Coordinator, you will design and deliver a vibrant range of engaging, person-centred activities that foster wellbeing, independence and social connection in a warm, boutique-style care environment.
Your work will help:
- Tailor group and one-to-one activities to individual needs, abilities and interests
- Build strong relationships with residents, with a focus on empathy and participation—especially for those living with dementia
- Contribute to a collaborative team, ensuring residents feel valued, active and connected

Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver a dynamic programme of activities (including group sessions and 1:1 support) designed to enrich daily life
- Engage creatively with residents of all abilities, prioritising inclusivity and person-centred care
- Work closely with the team to maintain a positive, stimulating environment
- Collect feedback and adjust activities based on individual preferences
Requirements & Skills
- Creative, organised and enthusiastic approach—your ability to bring ideas to life matters
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with residents and colleagues
- Experience in planning and facilitating activities (preferably with older adults, though transferable skills welcome)
- Compulsory: Interest in working with older people and a commitment to supportive, compassionate care
- Team player mentality—you’ll collaborate daily with nurses, caregivers and team leaders
- Desired: Background in hospitality, events, childcare, teaching or volunteer roles (hvAC experience preferred but not essential)
