Activities Coordinator – Contract Role
Glencorse Care Home, located in Penicuik, is a purpose-built facility offering Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Respite care for up to 54 residents. With a focus on teamwork, high standards of care and personal development, the home provides a supportive environment where staff can grow their skills and make a meaningful difference daily.
Position Overview
Contract
- £14.06 per hour
- 24 hours per week
- 5.6 weeks’ annual leave (based on a full-time equivalent)

You’ll:
- Plan and deliver a diverse programme of individual and group activities, tailored to residents' interests, abilities and care needs
- Build strong professional relationships to understand preferences and encourage inclusive participation—especially for those with dementia
- Work closely with the team to create a vibrant, stimulating and warm environment where residents feel valued, engaged and connected
The role is open to both experienced candidates and newcomers to care, with full training and support provided.
What We Are Looking For
- Creative, organised and enthusiastic personality
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging activities
- genuine interest in supporting older people
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively
- Preferable: Prior experience in activities coordination or related fields (e.g., hospitality, events, childcare or community work)
