Activities Coordinator - Luxury Care Home

Location: Hermitage House, Thrapston, NN14 4GN (part of the Country Court Family) Hours: 37 hours per week (weekends on rota) Shifts:

  • 4 days: 09:00–17:00
  • 1 day: 09:00–16:30

Hermitage House is a 67-bedded luxury care home in Thrapston, dedicated to delivering a bespoke lifestyle with exceptional personalised care in a luxurious environment.

The Role

Making a Difference Every Day

We’re looking for an Activities Coordinator with creative flare and out-of-the-box thinking to bring joy, inspiration, and engagement to our residents. From pumpkin-carving and gardening clubs to craft sessions and community events, you’ll help residents explore new experiences, stay connected, and thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver varied activities addressing diverse interests and life stories for individuals, small groups, and large gatherings.
  • Implement our ’Resident of the Day’ programme, conducting thorough resident assessments to improve quality of life.
  • Collaborate with local community groups and broader networks to enrich residents’ lives.
  • Foster fun, dynamic relationships alongside thought-provoking wellbeing initiatives.
  • Organise small-group/local trips and experiences outside the home.
  • Coordinate major events, including seasonal celebrations and charity initiatives.

About You

To excel in this role, you should:

  • Be friendly, welcoming, and entertaining, ensuring all activities are inclusive and tailored to residents’ needs.
  • Have an understanding of the care sector (advantageous but not essential).
  • Offer excellent interpersonal skills—engaging residents and their families authentically.
  • Demonstrate proactive, passionate behaviour with ambitions for high standards of customer service.
  • Be a sideways team player, supportive of colleagues while encouraging professional growth.
  • Possess access to your own vehicle with business insurance (essential—you’ll be involved in large territory activities).
