Activities Practitioner

We are looking for a Part-Time Activity Practitioner to join our Lifestyle Activity Team based in Clayton-Le-Woods.

About the Role

  • Salary: £14.91 to £15.88 per hour (dependant on qualifications)
  • Contract: 15 hours per week
  • Travel required: Between our services in Clayton Le Woods, Chorley, and Leyland, plus activity centres

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating activities:
    • Developing and running small and large group sessions (e.g., sensory drama, music, art/craft, gardening, hydro therapy, sensory story)
  • Monitoring & recording:
    • Ensuring proper documentation, including writing detailed reviews
  • Staff support:
    • Supporting and training colleagues during sessions
  • Equipment management:
    • Organising and maintaining activity equipment
  • Collaboration:
    • Attending meetings such as signing group sessions and communication forums as required

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Person-centred approach: Knowledge of and ability to support individuals with severe learning disabilities, including their communication needs
  • Autism awareness: Understanding of autism and person-centred care principles
  • Skills & Experience:
    • Excellent communication and teamwork
    • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent preferred)
    • Full driver’s licence (essential due to travel requirements)
  • Essential Check: DBS mandatory (applicants barred from working with vulnerable adults cannot apply)
