Activities Therapist – Brooklands Care Home, Antrim

Location: 50 Bush Road, Antrim


About the Role

Could you imagine delivering an enriching activities programme for the elderly in the heart of your community? A vacancy has arisen at Brooklands Care Home for an experienced Activities Therapist to organise and deliver a tailored programme of activities for our residents.

Salary:

  • £14.10 per hour (£22,000 per year)
  • Full-time role

The Role

  • Plan and deliver an innovative annual programme of social, cultural, and leisure activities designed to engage residents individually and in groups.
  • Provide a person-centred approach, catering to diverse preferences with activities including, but not limited to:
    • Beauty and relaxation
    • Arts and crafts
    • Music and theatre
  • Ensure that all programme documentation is accurately completed and up to date in line with care home standards.
  • Assist with fundraising initiatives—previous experience an advantage.
  • Maintain strong enthusiasm and skills to produce a varied programme, adapting to individual and group dynamics.
  • Work collaboratively to support residents’ well-being through meaningful one-to-one or group interactions.

Requirements

Desired Criteria ✱

  • Experience in care home activity provision (preferred but not essential).
  • Knowledge of person-centred care models.
  • Strong acceptance of fundraising duties within the role.

Essential Criteria

  • Enthusiasm, motivation, and the skils to inspire meaningful engagement with residents in both structured group settings and one-to-one contexts.
  • A commitment to creating a positive, tender and thoughtful environment for elderly individuals.
  • Additional training, willingness to access professional development, and an ability to work collaboratively with a team.
