Activity Coordinator
Location: Bayford House Care Home Rookwood, Stockcross, Newbury RG20 8LB
Contract: Permanent – Full Time
Hours: 32.5 hours over 5 days a week, 9.00am to 4.00pm, working every other weekend.
Salary: £13.30 per hour

Nestled in the leafy village of Stockcross, Bayford House offers personalised care packages which include residential, respite, nursing, palliative and Parkinson’s care. The home also has independent living suites for those in need of extra support or recovering from surgery.
Originally a private residence, Bayford House is set within large landscaped gardens and has been extensively modernised and refurbished to provide a high standard of accommodation and care. High ceilings and period features can be enjoyed throughout the home and residents can feel relaxed and comfortable in the spacious communal rooms and lounge areas. Most bedrooms have en-suite facilities and all are tastefully furnished and decorated.
Residents can stay for two weeks, a month or longer– however long residents or loved ones needs support. They’ll get to relax and meet new friends, giving families complete peace of mind. The home has a dedicated respite room that can be booked up to three months in advance, staff are happy to accept last-minute requests too.
The independent living suites are spacious bedrooms with lounge areas, situated within Newdale Court, a part of the home that supports assisted living. There is an on-site salon, large lounge and cinema room, as well as a dining room complete with hostess service.
Arts and crafts and reminiscence sessions are examples of the many activities available for residents, as are gentle gardening and sing-a-longs. Regular church services and a visit from a mobile library are also available.

You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen By
Running morning and afternoon activity sessions. Producing and updating an activity planner for the home, working to a set activities budget Organising birthday surprises for our residents Liaising with external companies and performers from the local community to organise days out/events at the home Organising one to ones with our residents, this might involve reminiscing tools, puzzles, reading or just a cup of tea and a chat Supporting the home with their social media channels as required
Key Skills / Qualifications Needed For This Role
You’re a creative thinker with plenty of ideas, who can also manage budgets and maintain paperwork, effectively managing priorities as they arise. Wanting to make a real difference, you’re interested in caring for others, sharing your sense of humour and spreading your infectious enthusiasm for making people’s lives better.
