Job Title:

Summer 2026 Activity Leader (Afternoon/Evening or Premium Activities) or Excursion Leader

About the Role

Join Alpadia’s team to make summer 2026 an unbelievable experience! We are looking for highly motivated people, who have the ability to engage and inspire young students, and who are looking for an enriching and educational experience themselves.

Responsibilities:

  • Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of all students in our care
  • Prepare and lead afternoon and evening activities (and/or Premium activities) Take thought into staging to ensure all students enjoy each activity
  • Prepare and lead excursion sessions, giving thought to:
    • Cultural immersion
    • Student safety
  • Review session plans and excursion materials in advance of sessions along with corresponding risk assessments
  • Deliver the standard of quality our students and stakeholders expect of Alpadia
  • Establish friendly and approachable relationships with students to enhance their overall experience
  • Manage and mentor students’ behaviour with:
    • A balance between encouragement and sanctioning, when appropriate
  • Prioritise student safety above all else by following our:
    • Safeguarding procedures
    • Health and safety guidelines
  • Actively and professionally supervise students’ free time, ensuring:
    • Residence rules are adhered to
    • Accommodation is kept clean and tidy
    • Students comply with bedtimes and wake-up routines (including accompanying them, if necessary)
  • Assist in the check-in/check-out procedure
  • Supervise students during mealtimes
  • Fulfil any additional tasks assigned by the Camp Manager

Qualifications & Eligibility

Essential Requirements:

✔ Ability to lead, motivate, and encourage large groups of teenagers ✔ Excellent communicator ✔ Ability to work under pressure ✔ Strong organisational and communication skills ✔ Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service ✔ Flexible and adaptable to change ✔ Maintains a positive, can-do attitude ✔ Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to its success.

Desirable:

✅ Experience working in holiday camps or similar organisations ✅ Keen interest in culture and sport (preferably with relevant qualifications, such as):

  • National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
  • First aid certification ✅ Experience of working with international students ✅ Previous experience of running activity/leisure programmes ✅ Work experience with junior students in education or care settings ✅ Basic safeguarding/child protection awareness

Course Locations & Dates:

  • London Central (International Students House): Commitment: 20 June 2026 — 7 August 2026 (Shorter contracts available)

Position Details:

🏠 Typical residential role with on-site accommodation ⚠️ Safeguarding & employment requirements:

  • Provide/undergo an Enhanced DBS check
  • Supply three referee details
  • Provide overseas conduct certificates, where applicable.
