Actuarial Analyst - Defined Benefit (DB) Pensions - True Up Team

Location: London or Reigate (Hybrid - 50%)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 35 hours

Purpose

The DB Actuarial Analyst will undertake pricing and actuarial input required to support delivery of DB Data True Ups and other tasks relating to in-force business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Head of True up, DB Actuary and DB Senior Actuarial Analyst in accurate and timely delivery of data true ups.
  • Prepare internal sign off documentation produced for each quotation, ensuring results are presented in a clear manner, outlining all material areas of judgement and limitations.
  • Prepare drafts of client deliverables / data true up letters to be issued externally.
  • Carry out all necessary BAU work for in force business which includes scheme valuations.
  • Prepare scheme valuations and ensure they are delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Prepare individual member calculations and ensure they are delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Develop a deep knowledge of all systems and tools used by the True up team.
  • Proactively help to drive projects forward to ensure they are progressed in line with expected timescales.
  • Proactively work to promote a culture of collaboration and engagement within the True up team.

What we’re looking for

  • Actuarial or Maths related degree is desirable, and / or working towards FIA qualification with some relevant experience.
  • Desire for an Actuarial career.
  • Understanding of actuarial principles and techniques.
  • Familiarity with DB pension scheme benefits and regulation is desirable.
  • Familiarity with life insurance principles and regulation is desirable.
  • Good IT skills, particularly Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
