Programme Overview
Starr have a number of internship opportunities available for Summer 2026. One of these being with our Actuarial team. The successful candidate will participate in Starr’s 9-week internship programme, with the objective of the programme being to gain experience and exposure to the London insurance market. This will be achieved through a blended approach of on-the-job learning, self-study and tailored training courses.
The successful candidate will support the Actuarial team across various projects and ad-hoc pieces of work, they will help to support the quarterly receiving processes, development and testing of pricing models, analysing and presenting data to support business decision-making and much more.

What you will need for the programme?
At Starr we look for individuals from all backgrounds who can bring fresh thinking and different perspectives. To qualify for our internship programme we do however specify that candidates demonstrate the following:
Available to work and travel:
- Able to travel to the City of London (although it is likely the internship will be a mixture of both remote and office working), their first day being Monday 22 June;
- Right to Work in the UK (Company sponsorship will not be offered);
- Available for the entire 9 weeks (Monday 22 June 2026 - Friday 21 August 2026);
- Available for full-time work in from September 2027 or sooner.
Education and Experience:
- Interested in becoming an actuary or a career in insurance; and
- Experience in using MS Excel, to a competent level.
